FULL DAY OF FOOD IN MONTREAL

No biking on the agenda today (our legs needed the break), but there is lots of good food! There were several brunch spots that had been recommended to me, but as we were walking down the street deciding where to go, a $6 breakfast menu caught our eye.

Comptoir de Chef Serghei has around ten breakfast options for only $6! They are all fairly simple but sounded delicious and came with unlimited coffee. The cafe itself had a European vibe to it and was cozy.

Max got poached eggs and toast and I got a bagel with homemade jam. The jam on it's own was wonderful and I was happy to have a lighter breakfast as I knew I would be eating quite a bit today. For the price, you can not really go wrong. It was a quick and yummy which was exactly what we needed.

After a bit of city exploring, we went to Reuben's Deli & Steakhouse for lunch. Our Airbnb host spoke very highly of their Road House Burger which featured a signature Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce, onions and cheddar cheese. I took his advice and went with the burger and was not disappointed. The BBQ sauce was to die for! While the burger itself was great, the french fries were a little lacking. They reminded me of McDonald's fries, which is not to say they were bad, just very basic.

While I was enjoying my burger, Max had a reuben sandwich that was piled high. I did not have a chance to steal a bite off of him because he ate it so quickly, which I think shows how much he liked it.

Some more city exploring and then we ended up at Kem CoBa, an ice cream and sorbet shop. Their soft serve flavours are always changing and today they had apple and cinnamon. I got a twist of the two and I do not think I can put into words how good it was! The best soft serve I have ever had hands down. The flavours are not something I would usually go for, but in this case I am happy they were my only option. I really would like to try out some more of their flavours before my trip is done but I am not sure how often they switch them up.

Our first full day in Montreal was a mouthwatering success. Tomorrow we will hop back on our bikes and try out some more local places.
