Today we set our sights for Cornwall, another 100km day. The ride from Brockville to Cornwall was very straight, and also a slight decline the whole way. These factors paired with the wind at our back made for a very quick, enjoyable ride! I do not think we even had one moderately hard hill to climb. We arrived in Cornwall an hour ahead of our earliest estimated arrival time!
There was a burger bar down the street from our accommodation that had great reviews so we headed over there for late lunch/dinner. Truffles Burger Bar is a trendy restaurant with a killer menu. The first item on the menu? The "Solid Gold Burger" which is a beef patty topped with foie gras, black truffle shavings and 23 kt gold dust. GOLD DUST! For the small price of $100 this burger also comes with a glass of champagne.
Some other notable choices Truffles has to offer are the Hopping Kangaroo Burger, Snapping Alligator Burger and Blue Crab Burger. I think each of these ones is pretty self explanatory.
Although all though items were tempting, I decided on something that was a little more normal. The "Apple Burger" was pulled pork with baked apples and goat cheese. Max decided on the "Texas Burger" that came with bacon, mushrooms and hickory smoked bacon sauce.
To say that we impressed with our food would be an understatement. Everything was AMAZING! The combination of baked apples with goat cheese went perfect with pulled pork. This may be the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. Max's burger was cooked to perfection, and he opted for curly fries instead of regular which were delicious.
We ate at 4pm so the restaurant was (not surprisingly) not busy. I could definately see it being busier later in the evening, especially because they do offer live music some days. This hidden gem in Cornwall is a must try!
