I have been dying to try Fugo Desserts since it opened, and today was the day I finally got a taste! They have both soft serve and hard ice cream, that can be ordered in cups, cones, or "Fugo Cones". "Fugo Cones" are premade cones with topping such as Oreo and Fruit Loops around the rim. Of course I went all out and get a Fugo Cone.
Max and I went after work on a Thursday and got there at 5:30pm. There was only one person ahead of us in line, so our cones were ready quickly! Expect longer wait times if you go on a Friday night on the weekend.
I chose the "Cookie Monster" flavour which had blue coloured cookies and cream ice cream (as far as I could tell it did not change the taste), with mini Chips Ahoy cookies on top and in an Oreo Fugo Cone. It looked amazing! As far as taste goes, it was pretty good, but I think the hype for these cones is more about how they look than the flavour. I found the blue cookies and cream ice cream to be a bit bland. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the blue being added to it, but I love cookies and cream ice cream and this just was not doing it for me.
Max went with "Cookies 'n' Dreams" which had Skor ice cream, Oreos on top and also came in an Oreo Fugo Cone. I think his flavour of ice cream was the better of the two.
I am glad to have tried Fugo Desserts, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations as far as taste. I might be back to try the soft serve though.
