SUSHITTO

I originally came across Sushitto the same way I come across majority of the places I want to eat, through Instagram. Their bio reads, "The only thing better than Sushi and Burritos!" Sushitto is a food truck that sells sushi burritos (this concept was new to me as well) and they claim to be the first of their kind in Toronto. If you are still not sure what to make of this yet, picture a maki roll about the size of a burrito, and there you have it.
As I scrolled down their Instagram feed, I saw just how much of a buzz this food truck was generating. The comment section on each photo had hundreds of people tagging their friends saying, "We have to try this!" Other comments noted long wait times, which is always a buzzkill. This left me wondering, we it be worth the hype (and the wait)?
Nevertheless, Max and I were eager to try as we both love sushi. Each day Sushitto will post their location on Instagram. This seems like the only way to track down this food truck as far as could find.
We arrived an hour after they had open to find they had already sold out of several menu items. The line was about 20 people long and took about 30 minutes. Sushitto claims the long waits are due to the fact that everything is made fresh to order.
Finally we reached the front of the line, starving but excited! I opted for the Softshell Crab, while Max got Spicy Salmon. You could choose between a half or a full serving, and we both got the full. Time to dig in.
So was it worth the hype? Absolutely. You could taste just how fresh each ingredient was, and the flavours were outstanding. It was very filling and I definitely should have only got the half portion. I do not have anything bad to say about Sushitto, it is obvious this company cares very much about quality. Packaging was excellent, customer service was excellent, food was excellent.
UPDATE: I found the Sushitto truck again on August 24th and was just as impressed the second time around! I got the Soft Shell Crab (again... I'm picky about seafood) and Max got the Chef's Special which was Tuna and Salmon. My rating stays the same after round two.
